Got a buck or some doe to spare?

Got a buck or some doe to spare?

Deer season opens this weekend across Texas.  Texas Parks and Wildlife representatives predict an ample supply of quality white-tailed deer in spite of drought conditions earlier in the year.

As you head out to help control Texas’ deer population, and fill your freezer, please remember the hungry in your community.

Through our partnership with Hunters for the Hungry, you may donate legally-tagged, field-dressed deer at a participating meat processor.  For a small  fee to cover processing costs, meat processors prepare and package the venison, then contact us so that we may distribute it to families in need.  The processing fee may be tax deductible; please consult your tax advisor.

Do you need to stock up on hunting gear and accessories?  Donate while you shop at shopCAFB.com. Simply choose your favorite retail store including Amazon.com,  Overstock.com, Target and  Sam’s Club and up to ten percent of the purchase price is donated to CAFB. You’ll still be able to use your established shopping carts with your favorite store — there’s no need to set up new accounts. Just shop as usual and CAFB benefits.

Protein is not often donated and is one of the most expensive items for us to get.  It’s also the most desired by our partners and clients.  For more information about this important program, please visit their website.
