Wheatsville Food Co-Op Donates Percentage of Sales in October to Help the Hungry

October 2nd, 2012 § 0 comments

Wheatsville Food Co-Op will donate 1% of sales on the first four Wednesdays in October to support the Capital Area Food Bank.

Wheatsville Food Co-Op’s Community Action Wednesday program helps Co-Op owners get involved with local nonprofits.  Each year, owners vote for which nonprofits receive funds from a percentage of sales.

Customers may donate by shopping on Wednesday, by donating at the register at any time or donating non-perishable packaged food and diapers in the collection boxes by the exit door.

The Deli will be serving Thanksgiving foods on the Hot Bar the first four Wednesdays in October and CAFB will receive 1% of the sales!

For more than 35 years, Wheatsville has been dedicated to the principles of cooperation, and remains committed to their founding ideals of community control, social action, and environmental responsibility.   Community Action Wednesday is one of the many ways they put their ideals into action. Thank you, Wheatsville, for your continued support of local nonprofits and for helping us nourish the hungry in our community.
